Come take a one-on-one riso workshop with us!
If you’ve always been interested in learning riso but haven’t found the time to come to one of our regular Riso Basics group workshops, or if you have a specific project in mind that you’d like extra support on, this is for you!
Want to just learn the basics and play with all of our art and collage supplies? Great! Want the support of one of our experienced studio techs as you’re creating and printing your 32 page zine or wedding invites? Let’s do it! Want to have a riso printing date night? We love it! From learning the basics to deep diving into risograph these one-on-one sessions are for you!
One-on-one Riso Basics Workshop
These private workshops are 2 hours long and for a maximum of 3 people. You will be working with one of our experienced studio assistants as they guide you through the process of riso printing, from risograph history, an overview of how these machines work, the stencil-duplicator process, and the quirks and fun (sometimes unpredictable) outcomes of riso printing. Following this workshop you can sign up to print with us during our open print hours!
Each participant will design and print an edition of 25 8.5 x11” 2-color prints. You can use our plethora of art supplies here (keeping things analog and playful is a great way to start with this print process) or you can bring in artwork to format and print. These sessions are tailored to you and your project(s) and can be whatever you need them to be—if you have a specific project in mind we’re happy to adjust the class to fit what you’re wanting to learn.
Interested in booking for a small group or team of 4 or more? Contact us to schedule a private group workshop!
One-on-one File Setup Consultation
This private consult is great if you have a complex project and would like the help of our experienced studio assistants before diving in and making an open hours print appointment. Our studio assistants are well versed in zine setup, laying out separations for printing, and all of the Adobe programs you might need to navigate in order to make a riso print. These sessions are primarily for file setup and test prints.
Pre-requisite: You must have taken on of our Riso Basics intro workshops in order to sign up for this session.
One-on-one Intermediate Riso Workshop
These workshops are great if you’d like to dive even deeper into risograph following our Riso Basics intro course! Riso is incredibly versatile and so many different mediums can be translated to riso printing. Are you a photographer wanting to learn photo separations? A painter wanting to convert paintings to prints? A comics artist wanting to learn how to set up a zine for riso printing? A digital illustrator wanting help with layering inks? Something else? Let’s do it!
If you’re more of a group workshop person, we also offer classes on all of these topics—just check our class schedule!
